A woman has died after being hit by a vehicle as she walked along the M25 in the early hours, police have said.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following the fatal collision, which happened at about 02:50 GMT on Sunday.
The woman was walking near the slip road at Junction 13 at Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey, when she is believed to have been struck.
The M25 is closed anti-clockwise from Junction 14 at Heathrow to Junction 12 at Chertsey.
Surrey Police said it would remain shut for "some time" and drivers are being advised to avoid the area.
Police are asking for any for witnesses to contact them on 101, quoting incident reference P15008681.
