A man has shot dead at least one person at the Palace of Justice in the Italian city of Milan, officials say.
Appeals court judge Giovanni Canzio told the Ansa news agency that a defendant in a bankruptcy case opened fire at the entrance to a courtroom.
The shooter was still at large inside the Palace of Justice, he added.
Judge Canzio said up to two people could have died, while the newspaper La Repubblica reported that two people were killed and one injured.
La Repubblica identified the gunman as Claudio Giardiello, without giving its sources.
