A man has been charged with attempting to murder two police officers in Leeds.
James Leslie, 37, of Cardigan Road, Leeds, is accused of shooting a female officer at about 04:00 GMT on Wednesday.
She and a colleague were attending a property in Cardigan Road, Headlingley.
The officer suffered injuries to her face, neck and right hand. She is described as "poorly but stable" in hospital. Mr Leslie is due to appear before magistrates in the city later.
In a statement, West Yorkshire Police said Mr Leslie had also been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possessing a prohibited firearm, criminal damage and possession of cannabis.
Chief Supt Paul Money said the two officers had been responding to a "neighbour-type dispute".
A firearm was discharged causing injuries to the officer, a 33-year-old member of the neighbourhood response team.
The second officer was not hurt in the incident.
Police revealed on Wednesday that a firearm had been recovered.
