Arrest over alleged care home abuse

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of assault by detectives probing allegations of abuse at a care home in Essex.

The arrest on Friday followed a BBC Panorama investigation into treatment of residents at the Old Deanery Care Home in Braintree.

The woman, in her 40s, has been released on police bail until later this month pending further enquiries.
