Body parts believed to be those of a man have been found at a recycling plant in Bristol.
Police were called to the Biffa depot in Avonmouth at 11:00 BST on Friday after being alerted by staff to possible remains at one of the units.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokeswoman said the remains were "believed to be a body of a man" but it was too early to say how long they had been there.
The victim has yet to be identified, police said.
A police cordon remains in place while specialist officers carry out investigations at the recycling plant.
"Employees at the site were concerned at what they thought were remains in one of their units," the police spokeswoman said.
"We cordoned the site off and are continuing our inquiries. I can confirm that it is believed to be a body of a man."
Biffa is one of the country's leading waste management companies, disposing of rubbish from commercial, industrial and public sector organisations.
